Today we're excited to announce that we've raised $350,000 AUD from Paspalis.
Since Phoebe and I started Go Locum in 2022, we've seen insatiable demand for flexible work arrangements from Australia's doctors, who are burning out in the wake of rigid hospital systems and the seismic shift in societal expectations in a post-pandemic world.
At the same time, our regional health systems are on their knees as they struggle to attract and retain front-line healthcare staff, contributing to poorer health outcomes for rural communities, and exploding recruitment budgets.
Recognising this, we developed a vacancy aggregation platform to give doctors access to flexible work in a way that has never previously been possible, while also removing substantial administrative burdens from the locum recruitment process.
Our industry-leading platform uses modern technology to:
- organise and distribute hospital vacancy information
- credential and engage doctors
- onboard staff in a highly automated, cost-effective and flexible way
- drive new standards for privacy in the locum recruitment industry
- deliver a modern, transparent and delightful digital experience to our stakeholders
This investment will enable us to continue to expand the reach of our platform and to further develop our suite of modern medical recruitment software products.
The money will also be used to add international territories to our offering, including two-way recruitment pipelines with Ireland and New Zealand.
“We're thrilled to support Go Locum as they tackle the acute challenge of demand outstripping supply in remote healthcare. Their digital solution addresses the critical need for flexible staffing while empowering medical professionals—a win-win that could reshape the industry globally.” - Alex Farrugia, Investment Manager at Paspalis Innovation Investment Fund.
Paspalis operates as the Northern Territory’s strategic venture investor, leading pre-seed to Series A deals into high-growth potential businesses that leverage NT’s strengths, capabilities, and potential.
Importantly, this investment will further enable rural Australians access to quality face-to-face healthcare. It will help us mould an agile medical workforce that can dynamically re-organise to meet shifting healthcare needs.
It will help a generation of doctors to live flexible, fulfilling lives, ensuring the longevity and sustainability of their careers. To work part-time while they start a business, or teach the next generation of Australia's doctors. To travel to places unknown, or to be present in their home lives.
