Busy department with reasonable acuity. In-charge shifts with two other junior doctors (typically SRMO & Intern). Supportive FACEMs.

Nights can be busy with a constant flow of patients throughout the shift. Supportive department as a whole with an excellent core consultant group and consistent nursing staff. Accommodation is close-by but as an RMO or Registrar you will not typically be provided a car, this can be quite isolating as the hospital itself is not really walkable from the CBD. This means you are a reasonable distance from most worthwhile food and sightseeing opportunities.

Great Place to work. Staff were all really approachable and happy to explain processes if needed. I worked as an Ortho Reg, the team were supportive and the consultants were good to work with, they were easily contactable at all times. I stayed in my own accommodation with the hospital re-embursment so I cannot comment on hospital accommodations. There is free parking for staff on site and they hospital uses iEmr. I would recommend working in Orange for anyone who is considering time there. The town is easy to navigate with everything you need. There are a couple of really cute restaurants, you are surrounded by wineries and there are lots of hikes in the surrounding area so days off are sorted.
