The Katherine Hospital is a non-specialist public hospital that services Katherine and the surrounding region and remote areas.

The Jack Roney Ward is a mixed adult ward with 28 beds. There are four single rooms for patients who need isolation and also a room with three monitored beds. There is one renal dialysis chair in the ward. The ward has one palliative care room.
The children's ward is an 18-bed facility that offers inpatient care for infants, children and adolescents. One parent is encouraged to stay in the hospital with their child.
Emergency x-rays can be done at any hour. Ultrasounds are done at the hospital and CT is available in Katherine. Patients may need to travel to Darwin for certain specialised x-rays and ultrasounds.

Opening hours for the pathology laboratory are from Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4.20pm. Weekends and public holidays from 8am to 12pm.
By far one of the best locations I have worked at. The staff make you feel very welcome from day one. Great opportunity to gain the necessary skills to provide excellent healthcare to indigenous populations and see incredible medicine.
