With a strong local presence in Dubbo, Dubbo Hospital is a 160-bed public hospital. It handles a substantial case mix across acute and inpatient care, with strong exposure to emergency presentations, general medicine, surgery and a wide range of hospital-based services. As part of Western NSW, it offers the chance to step into a well-supported multidisciplinary team and contribute to a busy service with plenty of clinical variety. ED was well supported and well resourced - I was on nights with a Reg and another locum, with on call FACEM. iEMR for notes and orders. Accom behind the hospital was a clean and spacious 1 bed unit with kitchen and laundry.

Whilst it was a VERY busy department there was always a sense of order and awareness from the seniors. The staff were very welcoming, willing to assist and despite being a short term locum, they were also willing to teach! Overall had a fabulous placement and would be happy to return.
